History of the Kiwanis Club of Hilltop
The Kiwanis Club of the Hilltop was chartered on September 6, 1945. Dr. Jim Miles and 50 other men in the community had a vision of providing community
service to the Hilltop through Kiwanis International.
On September 6, 1945 these men assembled at the Seneca Hotel in Columbus, Ohio to form a charter group and for 65 years the Hilltop Kiwanis has been
serving the community through its projects and donations. The list of our past presidents and members include many well known community leaders.
The club has always prided itself in being personally involved in projects like college scholarships, vocational guidance to high school students,
community beautification events, assistance to both the youth and the aging
of the community, and the development of community facilities.
Tradition has been a strong part of the history of the club. Our Newspaper Auction, Street Sale, and participation at local Easter Egg Hunts bring back fond memories of the fun and fellowship offered by the club. We continue to
follow old traditions while establishing new ones by adding things like Make A Difference Day and the Farm Science Review to our list of
community involvement. New members continually add to the legacy; and we
welcome their ideas and enthusiasm as well as their participation.
